They are omnivorous animals that can eat plant and animal matter. Bears have been seen climbing a tree to get to a hummingbird feeder or loitering around a typical bird feeder. Trash containers are a favorite source of food. Keeping a bear out of your trash can be a difficult task. They are able to push over heavy trash bins and bend open metal lids. Always make sure the lid to your trash receptacle is tightly secured.
