The Blue Mesa Recreation Association is located approximately fifty mile southwest of Gunnison, Colorado. It is primarily a seasonal community. Although, more recently a larger number of residents are starting to stay year-round. It is idealy located for anyone desiring to participate in outdoor recreational sports. It has easy access to fishing, snow-mobiling, hunting, hiking, fishing, trail riding, and skiing.
The Association was established in 1972 by several investors, including former governor of Colorado Roy Romer and rancher Vernon Hawks. The area consists of over 600 lots.
